Meet Sean

Sean is a young local, who has been twirling since 2004. He stumbled upon twirling when he first unknowingly saw the Fireflys perform in 2003-2004 NYE and he was hooked.

He then enthusiastically hunted down lessons with The Carnival of the Divine Imagination in Brisbane, who captured the delights of the art and built his foundation with just two lessons. And soon he finds himself coming full circle by becoming a member of the Fireflys. And extending his foundations by bridging into a world of theater. He has been involved in many performances and festivals and practices with poi, staff, wands and hula till date.

And his favourite tip towards twirling? "Imagine a curry pot"... ... Sean is your main contact and primary trainer for of the Tiki Twirl sessions.

Meet Yap

Yap picked up twirling from a friend and fellow troupe member, Bryan early 2003. A warm and friendly but occasionally shy character, he is always willing to assist and provide guidance to anyone interested in picking up a staff. He too does staff and poi and a little bit of everything.

Along with the Fireflys, he has built a lengthy performance history. Do check out his double staff skills!

His favourite tip for twirling? You just have to pick up a staff!

Check out a video from an exciting rehearsal session with May and Yap! -Coming Soon-

Meet Ian

Drawing from his empecable creative taste, Ian is our silence inspiring mind of the Firefly troupe. He alike all of us have picked up twirling for it's joy and through his friendship with Bryan. (Seems like Bryan is very well known by many). His background in dance has only strength his performance through the use of it into his poi twirling amongst the other props.

Like all of us, Ian has not only performed with the troupe but played the essential role of choreography! He too has a lengthy experience in teaching poi techniques to beginner to intermediate level students.
